Michael Buble Shoots To The Top Of The Charts – After Only Three Days
Michael Buble released his new CD, Crazy Love, last Friday, October 9, instead of on the day that CDs are typically released, on Tuesdays. But after only three days of sales, Crazy Love debuts on top of the Billboard 200 chart with 132,000 copies sold. It’s Buble’s second No. 1 album. 2007’s Call Me Irresponsible debuted with 212,000 at No. 2 before moving to No. 1 the following week. Crazy Love is Buble’s third top 10 album, as his second studio CD, It’s Time, debuted and peaked at No. 7 in 2005.
The release of Crazy Love was pushed up from its original date of Oct. 13 to Oct. 9 to coincide with Buble’s performance on Oprah that same day. Coming in at #2 is the rock band Kiss, whose Wal-Mart-exclusive studio album Sonic Boom sold 102,000 copies. And at No. 3, country singer Toby Keith sold 90,000 copies of his American Ride, which features a tribute song to his good friend Wayman Tisdale, “Cryin’ for Me (Wayman’s Song).” The tune features bassist Marcus Miller, Tisdale band member Arthur Thompson and smooth jazz saxophonist and Smooth Jazz Network daytime host Dave Koz.
