Corinne Bailey Rae Finishes New CD, The Sea, Will Tour In U.S.
Corinne Bailey Rae, whose rose to fame with three smooth jazz hit singles from her debut CD, has completed her next CD. Titled The Sea, it is scheduled to be released on February 2.
“I hope you guys will like it and be into it,” she says in a video on her website. The U.K.-based singer also says she co-produced the new record and promises “some hints” of the new work and behind-the-scenes footage will come to the site.
The 30-year-old singer’s 2006 self-titled CD featured the hits “Put Your Records On,” “Like a Star” and “Trouble Sleeping.” In addition, she has hit the smooth jazz charts with two collaborations, the first with “River” from Herbie Hancock’s Grammy-winning River: The Joni Letters. The second was “Free,” a song from an album by bassist Marcus Miller.
Prior to the February release of The Sea, Rae will perform in London on November 23. She is also expected to announce several shows in the U.S. soon in advance of the release.
