Whitney Houston Puts Famed New Jersey Home On The Market
Want to buy the home where Whitney Houston married now-ex Bobby Brown 17 years ago? The New Jersey estate is yours for $2.5 million. The five-bedroom, 12,561-square-foot house in Mendham Township is selling for less than half its $5.6 million assessed value. No reason has been given for the price reduction. The house on North Gate Road has four full bathrooms, two half baths, a four-car garage and three fireplaces.
The Coldwell Banker website estimates a buyer would have monthly mortgage payments of $10,819 based on a down payment of $500,000 and a 5 percent interest rate on a 30-year, $2 million mortgage. Taxes will run the new buyer about $7,700 per month.
The sprawling estatewas where Whitney and Bobby married in front of 600 guests in 1992. The guest list included Anita Baker, Luther Vandross, Dionne Warwick, Gloria Estefan, Patti LaBelle, Dick Clark and Donald Trump.
Houston, a multiple Grammy Award winner, recently released the CD I Look to You, her first in seven years. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart after selling 304,801 copies in its first week.
