Carlos Santana Extends Residency In Las Vegas, Adds Freddie Ravel
Carlos Santana’s second run of his Supernatural Santana - A Trip through the Hits residency at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas begins today, November 11. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, signed to perform about 36 shows per year at the casino, will perform through November 22 at the resort’s resident rock nightclub, The Joint. Another run begins February 3 and continues through Feb. 21.
Santana will be joined onstage by the same band that has backed him throughout the last year: Karl Perazzo (timbales), Benny Rietveld (bass), Dennis Chambers (drums), Raul Rekow (congas), Andy Vargas (vocals), Tony Lindsay (vocals), Tommy Anthony (rhythm guitar), Jeff Cressman (trombone) and Bill Ortiz (trumpet). Smooth jazz keyboardist Freddie Ravel will be performing in place of Chester Thompson.
“This show is designed to bring everyone in the audience together as one,” says Santana, whose many classic songs include “Europa,” “Oye Como Va,” “Black Magic Woman” and “Evil Ways.” “My wish is for it to be a night that will move you to dance, to cry, to laugh and to feel the totality and fullness of being alive.”
