James Taylor Announces 2010 Tour With Carole King; L.A. Tickets On Sale Today

James Taylor and Carole KingRejoice, lovers of great 1970s music. James Taylor and Carole King say they will go on a long concert tour together next year. The two first performed on the same stage at Los Angeles’ famed Troubadour Club in 1970. That show was a milestone, marking King’s debut as a solo artist. Taylor had recently released his self-titled debut CD and his second, Sweet Baby James. Those albums included the songs ”Carolina In My Mind,” ”Something in the Way She Moves,” “Fire and Rain,” “Oh, Susannah” and others.

Both Taylor and King, of course, continued on to award-winning careers. They reunited two years ago with the band they used in 1970 for a celebration of the Troubador’s 50th anniversary. The new tour, called the Troubadour Reunion tour, begins in Australia in March and hits Los Angeles in May. They’ve only announced seven dates – including May 14 at the Hollywood Bowl – but say more will be set in the near future. Tickets for the Los Angeles show go on sale today, November 12.

King’s best-known songs include “It’s Too Late,” “So Far Away,” “Jazzman,” “I Feel the Earth Move,” “Sweet Seasons” and “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman.” Both recorded Taylor’s “You’ve Got a Friend.”
