Hiroshima Expands Annual Christmas Shows In L.A. To San Francisco
This holiday season, band members of the veteran smooth jazz group Hiroshima will have a lot to celebrate as they perform a new version of their annual Christmas show. The band, led by Dan Kuramoto and June Kuramoto, will perform many of their best-known songs as well as selections from their 2004 holiday CD Spirit Of The Season. Expect to hear “Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” mixed in with original songs such as“Listen (To The Falling Snow)” and “Peace On Earth.”
This year, Hiroshima will once again have a Spirit of the Season holiday show in Los Angeles, a show they’ll be performing for the eighth straight year. This year, they’ll have TV and radio personality Roy Firestone joining them to debut his first-ever vocal CD that was actually produced by by band. Also sitting in will be percussionist Richie Gajate Garcia.
The band will also debut its holiday show in San Francisco. Vocalist Terry Steele will join the band for all shows in both cities, singing such songs as “Spirit of the Season,” The Door is Open” and “One Fine Day.”
As is always the case, Hiroshima will have lots of autographed CDs at the shows at discounted prices that make great gifts and stocking stuffers. One of the CDs is the band’s latest, Legacy, a reworking of some of the band’s favorites songs, including the smooth jazz radio staple “One Wish.”
The Los Angeles show is December 5th at Aratani/Japan America Theater. In San Francisco, Hiroshima will perform two shows a night for four nights in a row, December 17 to December 20, at the Rrazz Room at Hotel Nikko.
