Saxophone superstar and Smooth Jazz Network weekday afternoon host Dave Koz has been selected as a judge for the the 2010 Miss America Pageant. It’s a diverse panel as Koz will be joined by conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh, Olympic gymnast and Dancing with the Stars winner Shawn Johnson, actor Paul Rodriguez, actress Vivica A. Fox, Miss America 2002 Katie Harmon and American Idol finalist Brooke White.

The Miss America Pageant selected each of the seven judges to represent a select field. Koz, for example, represents the field of talent, while Fox represents the field of beauty and Limbaugh the field of communication and interviews.

Koz and the rest of the judging panel will judge the contestants from the preliminaries through the final night of competition, which will be televised from Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on January 30 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on TLC.

The Miss America Pageant is separate from the Miss USA Pageant, which gained national attention this year when finalist Carrie Prejean answered a question from gossip blogger Perez Hilton about same-sex marriage.
