Saxophonist Kim Waters Offers Transcription Book With His Hits

Kim WatersWant to play saxophone like smooth jazz superstar Kim Waters? There’s no guarantee that will happen, but Waters is now offering The Best of Kim Waters, a softcover transcription book that has note-for-note readings of 13 of his best songs. They include “In the Groove,” “Waterfall,” “Let Get On It,” “The Ride” and “Steppin’ Out.” It also features “Fallin’ For You,” a No. 1 song on the Smooth Jazz Top 20 featured on the debut CD by the Sax Pack, a group with Waters and fellow saxophonists Jeff Kashiwa and Steve Cole.

This Saturday (December 12), Waters continues his 20th Anniversary Tour in Portsmouth, VA. On New Year’s Eve (December 31), he’ll have a special show in Huntington Beach, CA, with vocalists and husband-and-wife team Kenny Lattimore and Chante Moore.

“It’s a great thing to be able to be in this industry for 20 years,” Waters says. “I think touring is what really keeps me going. I keep my fan base through the touring and, of course, selling records on the road helps quite a bit. I’m just trying to keep my core audience and establish new listeners every time we do a concert.”
