Wife Of Smooth Jazz Star Debuts Christmas Cantata And CD
Over the weekend, a new project produced by smooth jazz bassist Michael Manson made its debut in Chicago. Worthy: A Christmas Cantata, a collection of songs written in many genres that focuses on the story of Jesus, was performed at Chicago’s St. James AME Church.
Worthy: A Christmas Cantata was written by Manson’s wife of 22 years, Lana Manson. She holds a master’s degree in music from Northwestern University and has written and arranged songs for artists such as the Hawkins Family, the Soul Children of Chicago and Ricky Dillard and New G. She is also director of choral music at Rich South High School in Chicago.

Michael Manson’s latest smooth jazz CD is titled Up Front. In 2006 he released a CD titled Just Feelin’ It that included the hit single “Coming Right At Ya.” His debut CD, The Bottom Line, was offered in 2002.
