John Mayer Dancing And Singing On “Ellen” Today
Guitarist and vocalist John Mayer, whose new CD Battle Studies debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, is the musical guest today (December 15) on the nationally syndicated TV show Ellen. He’ll also do a little dancing with host Ellen DeGeneres. Battle Studies is Mayer’s second No. 1; his first came with Heavier Things in 2003. Mayer’s Continuum CD, which debuted at No. 2 in 2006, featured the Smooth Jazz Top 20 hit “Waiting on the World to Change.”
Mayer, a seven-time Grammy winner, is part of host DeGeneres’ annual 12 Days of Giveaways series of shows, in which all studio guests receive gifts. Today is day nine. Also appearing on the show today will be the Top 6 dancers from the TV show So You Think You Can Dance.
Mayer has announced a full tour to support Battle Studies. He will be performing shows in San Diego on December 29 and Las Vegas on December 31. He’ll then resume his North American tour in February after some shows in the U.K. in January.
