Smooth Jazz Vocalist Gabriela Anders Having Birthday Today

Gabriela AndersToday (March 17th), vocalist Gabriela Anders celebrates her 38th birthday.  She was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. After high school, Anders moved to New York City, where she still lives today.

It was in 1998 that Anders released her debut album Wanting, featuring such artists as Eric Benet, Boney James, Kirk Whalum, Rick Braun and George Duke. She followed that CD with Ecletica, Latina and 2004’s Last Tango in Rio.

Anders’ latest CD, Bossa Beleza, was inspired by the 50th anniversary of Brazil’s boss nova music. The CD features the Brazilian standards “Dindi,” “One Note Samba” and “Agua de Beber,” among others, as well as Ander’s take on the Rolling Stones‘ “Satisfaction” and Earth, Wind and Fire’s “September.” In addition, there are three original songs.
