Adele Receives First Oscar Nomination

Multi-platinum selling singer-songwriter Adele has been nominated for her first Oscar Award in the 'Best Original Song' category for "Skyfall," the theme from the James Bond film of the same name.  Adele co-wrote the song with Paul Epworth and recorded the track with award winning composer/conductor and fellow nominee, Thomas Newman.  The six-time Grammy winner is also up for an award for "Skyfall" at the Golden Globes, taking place this Sunday, January 13.  According to the Associated Press, Adele has confirmed she'll be attending the Golden Globes, her first public appearance since giving birth to her son last October.  The Oscar Awards will air live on ABC beginning at 7pm EST on February 24.
