Grammy winning singer, Al Jarreau is featured on a new children's album called JumpinJazz Kids - A Swinging Jungle Tale, due out September 25. The project celebrates the rich history of Jazz and Popular music, combining classic storytelling and fun. The original jazz/pop songs are performed by Jarreau, Dee Dee Bridgewater and Hubert Laws along with a jazz quartet, full symphony orchestra and narration and voice characterizations by James Murray. The album was produced and created by music industry veterans Steve Barta and Mark Oblinger and strives to introduce children to the worlds of jazz, the spoken word and the Symphony in a fun, engaging and educational way. Bridgewater is featured on "This Elephant's Gerald," while Jarreau's playful vocals highlight "Do The Monkey Swing" and "Hubert Hummingbird." Laws adds flute to both a song named in his honor, "Hubert Hummingbird" and "Her Name Is Little Growl." Jarreau will be out performing live beginning in August - you can find his tour calendar here: www.aljarreau.com/tour.php.
