Al Jarreau supports Children's Literacy Efforts

Al Jarreau has been active over the years supporting literacy efforts by reading to children in the classroom.  His book of choice is "Ashti Meets Birdman Al", written by his friend Carmen Rubin.  Ms. Rubin announced a new iPad app is now available for the book and Al is hoping his fans will enjoy the story as much as he does.  Meanwhile, Jarreau is on tour this month with a stop in Storrs, Connecticut this weekend (November 11-12).  He released a new album earlier this year with George Duke, highlighting their early years playing together in San Francisco in the '60's, called Al Jarreau and the George Duke Trio Live at the Half Note Club 1965, Vol. 1.
