Grammy winning singers, Alicia Keys and Norah Jones are just two of the many artists who are coming together to support the "30 Days Campaign" in support of the Half the Sky Movement.  Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn are teaming with Independent Lens to create a documentary based on their best-selling book Half the Sky: Turning Oppression Into Opportunity for Women Worldwide, airing on PBS on October 1 and 2.  HalftheSkyMovement.org's "30 Days Campaign" will feature songs of solidarity, contemplation and celebration from some of the biggest names in the business -- including Angelique Kidjo/Alicia Keys, Sheryl Crow, India Arie, Norah Jones, Lucinda Williams, Patty Griffin, Amy Grant and many others.  The songs represent the movement to expose human rights violations, improve maternal health, fight sex trafficking and end gender-based violence.  The music will be available as free downloads, available here: www.halftheskymovement.org/, beginning September 3 and ending with the broadcast on October 2.
