Anita Baker to release 'Only Forever' on October 23

Anita Baker is putting the finishing touches on her first new album in seven years - entitled Only Forever - it's due out on October 23.  The first single called "Lately" is available today (August 7).  The Grammy winning singer says the album is full of her signature love songs, but this time they lean toward her new family situation.  Her youngest son, Ed, 18, heads off to college next month and like his brother, Walter, 19, he will be studying music.  Anita says, "So I'm an empty-nester now.  There's a song, Free, that just came through me, watching them go out into the world. I want them to hear my voice and to have advice readily available to them."  Anita says this is probably her last R&B record, indicating that she'd like to record a gospel album and a jazz album in the future.  Her next live appearance is scheduled for August 22 at the Hollywood Bowl.
