Aretha Franklin Teams with Babyface, Clive Davis for New Album

Feb 20 2013

Aretha Franklin is set to begin work on her next album and has enlisted the help of ace producers Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds and Danger Mouse, says executive producer Clive Davis. The Queen of Soul will be putting her unique stamp on some of the biggest diva hits ever recorded. Davis tells Billboard, "Whether it’s Billie Holiday or Dinah Washington, whether it’s Whitney Houston, whether it’s Alicia Keys, whether it’s Adele, whether it’s Ella Fitzgerald, we’re going to find the great, great diva songs and put an original arrangement on them and just hear the Queen of Soul go forth."  Franklin and Davis first worked together in the '80s and announced last March that they would be reuniting for a new project.  The album will be released on RCA Records.
