Dionne Warwick Forced to File for Bankruptcy

Mar 28 2013

Five-time Grammy winning singer Dionne Warwick was forced to file for bankruptcy when her efforts to arrange a payment plan to repay back taxes with the IRS and the state of California failed.  "Due to several consecutive years (the late '80s through the mid-'90s) of negligent and gross financial mismanagement, Dionne Warwick has realized the current necessity to file personal bankruptcy," Warwick publicist Kevin Sasaki said in a statement to CNN.  The award winning singer released her latest album Now in 2012 in celebration of her 50th anniversary in the music business.  She is best known for her longtime association with the songwriting team of Burt Bacharch and Hal David and their hits "Walk On By," "I Say a Little Prayer" and "I'll Never Fall In Love Again" among many others.
