|Jun 04 2013|
Legendary guitarist-singer George Benson releases his new album Inspiration: A Tribute to Nat King Cole today (June 4). Benson has long acknowledged that Cole was a major influence on his music and career and has spent the past four years developing and performing his live show “An Unforgettable Tribute to Nat King Cole.” On Inspiration, Benson offers his heartfelt renditions of some of Cole's greatest songs with arrangements by Nelson Riddle and is accompanied by the 42-piece Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra. Benson is also joined by Tony Award winner Idina Menzel for a duet on "When I Fall In Love" and rising star Judith Hill on "Too Young." Multi-Grammy and Pulitzer Prize-winning trumpeter Wynton Marsalis joins George a fresh new arrangement of the timeless Cole song "Unforgettable." Benson will be on tour this summer in support of the new album including a stop in Chicago, IL at the Chicago Theater on June 21. A full list of his concert dates is available here.
