Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, actress Gloria Estefan will release her new album The Standards on September 10, 2013 via Sony Masterworks.  The project has been "on my back burner for a long time," says Estefan. "I grew up listening to Frank Sinatra, Johnny Mathis, Henry Mancini and great romance recording artists in Cuba. This genre is right up my alley, since music is always a catharsis to me."  Estefan enlisted the help of guest artists Dave Koz on saxophone and Joshua Bell on violin to recreate some of her favorite American Songbook classics.  The album is sung in English, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and French with some new lyrics written by Estefan herself.  Koz is featured on the lead single, the Gershwin classic, "How Long Has This Been Going On" and "The Way You Look Tonight."  You can catch her special "Gloria Estefan Performs The Standards" on PBS, airing throughout the month of August (check local listings).  Tune in to the Smooth Jazz Top 20 Countdown with Allen Kepler this weekend as "How Long Has This Been Going On" is featured as the Feedback Track.
