Happy Birthday Diana Krall

Birthday wishes to Canadian pianist-singer-songwriter Diana Krall who celebrates today (November 16).  Diana was born in Nanaimo, British Columbia and began playing the piano when she was four.  She studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston before moving to Los Angeles to play Jazz.  Her debut album, Stepping Out, was released in 1993 featuring John Clayton on bass and Jeff Hamilton on drums.  It was followed by Only Trust Your Heart in 1995, produced by legendary producer Tommy LiPuma.  Diana won Grammy Awards for her albums When I Look in Your Eyes (2000) and Live In Paris (2003), in addition to eight Canadian Juno Awards.  She is married to British singer-songwriter Elvis Costello and the couple have twin boys, Dexter and Frank.  Diana's latest album is called Glad Rag Doll, featuring interpretations of her favorite songs from the 1920's and 1930's.  She's currently on tour in Europe in support of the new album and will kick off a U.S. tour in Miami, FL on April 2, 2013.
