Happy Birthday Kenny G

Birthday wishes to Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Kenny G who celebrates today (June 5).  Born Kenneth Bruce Gorelick in Seattle, WA Kenny picked up the saxophone when he was 10 years-old, inspired by hearing the instrument on The Ed Sullivan Show.  He got his first job as a sideman with Barry White's Love Unlimited Orchestra in 1973, then joined The Jeff Lorber Fusion.  He launched his solo career in 1982 when he was signed by Clive Davis to Arista Records.  His breakthrough album Duotones was released in 1986, featuring his signature tune "Songbird" and selling over 5 million copies in the U.S. alone.  Kenny released Breathless in 1992 which became his biggest selling album with over 12 million copies sold in the U.S.  Kenny will be on tour this summer including a four-night stand with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra June 13-16.  Visit his website here for a full list of tour dates.
