Happy Birthday Peter White

Birthday wishes to guitarist Peter White who is celebrating today (September 20).  Peter was born and raised in England and was inspired to start playing the guitar after hearing the Beatles in the early '60's.  He joined Al Stewart's band in 1975 and played on his 1976 album The Year of The Cat, recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London.  In the late 1980's he joined up with Polish singer Basia, doing two major tours with her.  During that time he began writing and recording his own music, releasing his first solo album Reveillez-Vous in 1990.  Earlier this year Peter released is latest project entitled Here We Go, his thirteenth solo recording.  The set features guest artists David Sanborn, Kirk Whalum and Philippe Saisse.  Peter is currently out on tour for the fall and will kick off his annual A Peter White Christmas shows featuring Mindi Abair and Rick Braun on November 23 in Austin, TX.
