Happy birthday to singer-songwriter, drummer Phil Collins who celebrates today (January 30). Born Philip David Charles Collins in London, England, he began playing the drums when he was five. Collins is well known for his work with the rock group Genesis in addition to his solo career. He's had number one hits with his songs "Against All Odds", "One More Night" and "Another Day In Paradise," among others. Collins' has received seven Grammy Awards, five Brit Awards, one Academy Award and two Golden Globes during his successful career. He released a covers album of his favorite Motown songs called Going Back in 2010, but announced last year he's taking time off from his music to focus on his family. Meanwhile, Phil was in London last week to attend a ceremony for his older brother, cartoonist Clive Collins, who received a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) honor, presented by Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace.
