Harry Connick, Jr. New Judge on "American Idol"

According to The Hollywood Reporter, singer-actor Harry Connick, Jr. will join "American Idol" for Season 13, taking the third judges seat alongside Keith Urban and Jennifer Lopez.  Connick has appeared on the Fox reality competition multiple times as a mentor and performer.  THR adds "American Idol" producer Simon Fuller hosted a party last Thursday evening in Los Angeles with longtime judge Randy Jackson, who begins his new mentor position in Season 13, Urban, Lopez and Connick as the crew toasted the upcoming announcement.  Connick released his latest album Every Man Should Know in June and has been on tour in support of the project all summer.  The New Orleans native is ranked among the top 60 best-selling male artists in the U.S. by the Recording Industry Association of America, with 16 million in certified sales.
