Jarreau, Albright, Ritenour for Democracy of Jazz Festival

The 2nd Annual TD James Moody Democracy of Jazz Festival returns to the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) November 4-10, 2013 commemorating the late, great saxophonist James Moody, a Newark native.  The week-long festival offers concerts, panel discussions and workshops around Newark and will kick off Monday, November 4 with a free concert by NEA Jazz Master Jimmy Heath at the Bethany Baptist Church.  On Nov. 8 the Jazz Meets Samba concert will feature Grammy Award winning Latin jazz icon Sergio Mendes along with his special guests Eliane Elias, Lee Ritenour and Joe Lovano, while Al Jarreau, Dianne Reeves, Jeffrey Osborne and Gerald Albright will join the Christian McBride Big Band for their special Sing, Swing, Sing! concert on Nov. 9.  For tickets and more information, visit here.
