Jessy J's Big Day

Happy birthday to saxophonist Jessy J who celebrates today (December 20).  Born Jessica Spinella in Portland, Oregon and raised in California, she began playing the piano when she was four.  By the time she was 15 she won the Piano State Championship and was playing the saxophone in state bands, like the Grammy Band, and was traveling to Switzerland to perform at the Montreux Jazz Festival.  Jessy's professional career began working in the studio with Michael Buble and touring with The Temptations, Jessica Simpson and Michael Bolton.  She released her first album, Tequila Moon, with Grammy winning guitarist and producer Paul Brown at the helm.  Her most recent album, Hot Sauce, was released in September.  You can catch Jessy performing a special holiday and birthday concert tonight at Spaghettini Jazz Bar and Grill in Seal Beach, CA.
