Grammy winning singer-songwriter Lenny Kravitz has signed on to portray Marvin Gaye in a biopic that will be filmed next year.  Kravitz has acted in supporting roles in the past, including a part in the blockbuster film The Hunger Games, but this will be his first time in a leading role.  Rolling Stone reports that Julien Temple will direct the film and it will focus on Gaye's time in Europe in the early 1980's when the singer was trying to beat his addictions and restart his career.  Kravitz is scheduled to perform in Miami, FL on December 9 for the UR1 Music Festival.
