Lenny Kravitz in new Film, Expanding Kravitz Design
|Aug 01 2012|
Lenny Kravitz has been busy on the set of a new film he's working on called The Butler. He's part of an all-star ensemble cast including Forest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey, Alex Pettyfer, Jane Fonda, Alan Rickman, Robin Williams, John Cusack, Terrence Howard and Cuba Gooding, Jr. The film is based on Wil Haygood's Washington Post article "A Butler Well Served by This Election," and is a drama that centers on the life of Eugene Allen, a black man who started his career in the White House as a "pantry man" in 1952. At that time, black people weren't allowed to use public restrooms in his native Virginia. Meanwhile, Lenny is also expanding his design company, Kravitz Design. The singer is going global with his lifestyle and fashion brand, adding furniture, bedding and clothing to his offerings. Lenny says he'd like the company to be seen in the same light as design icon Ralph Lauren.
