Maxwell is fresh off his performance at the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans this past weekend and shared with Billboard that he's putting the finishing touches on his next album SUMMERS', due out late summer or early fall.  The set is the second album in the trilogy blackSUMMERS'night and follows the release of BLACK in July 2009.  Maxwell says, "The album's pretty much about the last day of summer, so I felt like it was a good idea to release it at the end of the summer. It has that bittersweet feel to it. I don’t like things to be too happy. It's when you go back to school, summer’s over then you kind of have that wonderful week where you get crazy. That's what the essence of the record is."  As for the EP with Alicia Keys, the Grammy Award-winning singer says the two are working on a project that is "sort of Marvin Gaye/Tammi Terrell."  He considers her "family" and says the two have a strong connection musically.  No release date has been announced for the project.
