New album from Kirk Whalum due February 2012

Kirk Whalum is putting the finishing touches on his latest project, a remaking of the John Coltrane classic, Romance Language.  He'll get some help from his brother Kevin Whalum on the vocals that were originally performed by Johnny Hartman.  The set will be released on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2012, by Rendezvous Music and will include all six songs from the original Coltrane/Hartman recording, plus several modern ballads produced by Kirk and John Stoddart.  Kirk and Kevin Whalum are scheduled to perform a Valentine’s Day concert at the Hilton Portland Downtown in Oregon that will stream live to a global audience through Kirk’s website, http://www.kirkwhalum.com/.
