Randy Crawford and Joe Sample are set to release a new album together entitled Randy Crawford & Joe Sample Live on July 31. The pair have a long history together having first collaborated on their 1979 hit "Street Life" where Randy joined Joe and The Crusaders. More recently they have worked on the duo collaborations Feeling Good (2006) and No Regrets (2008), both nominated for Grammy Awards. Live was recorded on tour in Europe with Joe on the piano, his son Nicklas Sample on upright bass and Steve Gadd on drums. The set features the classics "Street Life," "Almaz," "One Day I'll Fly Away," "Everyday I Have the Blues" and Randy's version of the Edith Piaf tune "No Regrets," among other greats. Joe will be performing along with the Jazz Crusaders August 17-19 at Yoshi's in San Francisco and will team up with Randy once again at the Curacao North Sea Jazz Festival on September 1.
