Tony Bennett to Lead Winehouse Tribute at VMA's

Tony Bennett will appear on the MTV Video Music Awards this weekend to lead a tribute to the late Amy Winehouse.   Winehouse collaborated with him on his upcoming Duets II album, on the track "Body and Soul."  That session, which took place in March at London's Abbey Road Studios, was reportedly her last.  Bennett has been speaking publicly about how he enjoyed working with Winehouse and of her great talent.  He tells British music site Pop & Hiss that, during recording, he tried to steer her clear of her dangerous lifestyle: 

"I was trying to tell her, 'You have so much talent. Slow down on the drugs or it's going to kill you,' " he said. "And then when I heard she died, I couldn't stop crying. She was such a talent, so sweet."
  The VMA's air on MTV on Sunday, Aug. 28.  The Bennett/Winehouse single of "Body and Soul" will be released on Sept. 14 on what would've been Winehouse's 28th birthday.  Proceeds will benefit a new foundation started by her family to keep kids off drugs.
