Whitney Houston film 'Sparkle' out August 17

Whitney Houston's final film, Sparkle, is set to hit theaters on August 17.  The movie stars American Idol winner Jordin Sparks in the role of Detroit singer Sparkle Williams.  Houston was a producer on the movie and plays Sparkle's mother Emma.  The soundtrack will feature Whitney's final studio recordings for the film - a gospel classic "His Eye Is on The Sparrow" and a duet with Sparks called "Celebrate", written by R. Kelly.  The promotional poster for the film was released this week (depicted above).
